Acoustic Waves | Soul & Pop

June 4 @ 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
FREE

Acoustic Waves will be joined this time by Guido Bungenstock (Taurus), Volkan Baydar (Orange Blue), and Boris Vasiljevic (The Volcanoes). With their unmistakable groove and unique interpretations of select soul and pop classics, the trio ensures that every concert is a true highlight.

Volkan Baydar (Vocals, Percussion)

Music has always been a part of him. He was singing before he could even speak. At 20, he met his Orange Blue partner, Vince Bahrdt, through a personal ad, and the rest is history: After a stint at the Stage School Hamburg, acting studies in New York, and his first leading role in the musical “Pico,” Orange Blue finally achieved their big breakthrough in 2000. He has always remained true to his musical roots.

Guido Bungenstock (guitar)

He graduated from the Munich Guitar Institute and has been working successfully as a private teacher, guest lecturer at the Hamburg School of Music, and workshop leader throughout Germany for over 25 years. He has produced over 130 guitar instructional videos for one of the largest online guitar portals.

The accomplished guitarist has appeared on numerous rock and pop productions and is a live and studio musician for international artists such as David Garfield (Steve Lukather, George Benson, Los Lobotomys), Jack Thammarat, Vinai Trinateepakdee, Onita Boone, Terri Green, Kosho (Söhne Mannheims), Rick Latham (Edgar Winter), Uli Kusch (Helloween, Masterplan), Fanfields (Toto Tribute), Benny Greb, Otto Waalkes, Frank Briggs, Sylvan and many others.

Boris Vasiljevic (Bass)

The Hamburg-based bassist, originally from Croatia, has been providing bass for a wide variety of bands and projects for 30 years.

Initially active in rock and alternative music, he has played bass in numerous projects throughout Hamburg. Besides rock, pop, indie, country, and blues, he is increasingly pursuing his passion for soul music, dedicating himself to this genre with bands like the Volcanoes and the St. Pauli Soulmachine. In addition to numerous club gigs, he recently performed with a Greek/Turkish band featuring actors Adam Bousdoukos and Idil Üner, opening the Zeise Open Air festival in the lead-up to the premiere of Fatih Atkin‘s documentary *Crossing The Bridge – The Sound of Istanbul*.
